Giving new life, to old dreams

“Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.”

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭37:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Have you ever said I’ll never to do that again? Are you dreams long gone, shattered and destroyed? Does it mean that because of this catastrophic life event, your options are now limited?. I would not naturally want to enter a valley of dry bones, but what if God calls you to take a second look?

God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones, sinew, flesh and skin was put onto the bones, the framework was put in place but it was still lifeless. God told him to prophesy to the breath, it came, life came and an army arose. But still there was something missing. This resurrection was complete when God asked Ezekiel to prophesy again, and the Spirit entered.

For me the key significances are God’s desire to restore and bring new life that is Spirit filled and Ezekiel’s obedience. What is God asking you to have a fresh look at? What is He wanting to resurrect and are we willing to be obedient?
