Awesome God . . 5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. (‭Psalms‬ ‭135‬:‭5-6‬ ESV)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ . . Trying to contemplate how great God is, is nigh on impossible, no I will rephrase, it is impossible. No matter how awesome an image it cannot possible depict the awesomeness of God. We get many glimpses, but do we stop to take notice. Do we see the majesty in our interactions with others, can we see again with child like wonder? . . We just been out for a walk after going to the cinema and was struck by the neglect of humankind on our natural environment. Trash had been dumped, waste bins not emptied, life buoys stolen from around the reservoir, all symbols of the fallen world that we live in. Yet there was time to stop and smile has people were out with their children picking blackberries, God’s wonderful provision of late summer. The swans, ducks, coots and moorhens all had mature chicks and we thriving. Rays of sunlight streamed through the clouds and reflected off the water. . . We have a choice whether to lift our heads to the King of Kings and bask in His glory, letting it reflect and affect wherever we place our feet, or get weighed down with the brokenness of this generation. . . I choose to acknowledge that God is great, and above all gods.
