You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”

Finding peace in the midst of turmoil is not an easy thing, yet if we can lift our eyes beyond the circumstances and place them upon Jesus, peace comes. This form of meditation, focusing on God and His Word, brings a security that comes from knowing who we are and what he thinks about us. We can rest in His promises, safe in the knowledge that His promises are true and never changing.

We often marvel at Jesus asleep in the boat, while the storm raged round, petrified the disciples called out to Jesus. The one who could save them was in the midst and he is in ours as well. No matter what we are going through, we too can call out to the one who has promised never to leave or forsake us. He hears, speaks and calms the storm
