Sing a new song

When I received Jesus into my life, I had a new song, a song of praise and worship, when my youngest son got married and moved away from home, he said that one of the things he missed was me singing hymns in the morning.

Sing a new song 14 They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the Lord they shout from the west. 15 Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭24‬:‭14-15‬ ESV)‬ ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬. . One of my bosses used to say that he knew when there was something wrong, I stopped singing. I enjoy singing but for many years believed that I could not sing in tune. When I was 7 we all had to sing individually for the teacher. I was told that my voice was so awful that from now I should mime. . When I started to learn to play the guitar, the course book wanted, you to sing along and my wife would wince if I hit a flat note. The problem was not that I couldn’t sing, but no one had taught me to sing in key and I had definitely no concept of how to harmonise. . My grandfather always used to sing in a morning when in the bathroom, conversely my Dad just wants to be left alone until about 10am. I often sing while taking a shower and make up songs about my wife, I used to do the same over my children, I think that started on the day that the eldest was born and I sang over him in my arms, moments after delivery. How wonderful to read that God sings over us too. . The other morning I woke up miserable and downcast, struggling to face the day, and I remembered the words of a old hymn, found it on you tube and refreshed my soul. "Why don't you lead me to that Rock that is higher than I Oh lead me, yes Lord lead me Why don't you lead me to that Rock that is higher than I Thou hast been a shelter for me". .
