A Good Look Not a Glimpse. . . Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ . . Take a look at this, a good look, not a glimpse, to behold something implies there is something special or significant. It is remarkable and impressive God is my salvation, and boy did I need one. . . No matter what our background, our upbringing, our social standing we have all sinned and therefore need a saviour. What is especially remarkable is that God has become my salvation, He paid the price for my sin, God’s wrath was satisfied when His only Son shed His blood on the cruel cross of Calvary. . . I love this phrase from the hymn writer Alfred Henry Ackley I serve a risen Saviour He’s in the world today. I know that He is living, Whatever men may say. I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer; And just the time I need Him He’s always near. . . Salvation came when I accepted that Jesus died for me on the cross, but without the resurrection it would have been a forlorn hope. Because He is risen, I too have that assured promise of eternal life. . . This is where trust comes in, my confidence comes from Him, the one that is my constant companion. My fears and trepidation are gone when I have my eyes focused on Jesus, I draw strength from Him that fortifies my soul, as I reflect on this my heart bursts with praise, He is my song.
