I wish it could be Christmas every day.

This is a prophecy that has been fulfilled and yet is still being fulfilled and will not be brought to completion until Jesus returns. As followers of Jesus we know that despite what we see around us God is in control, but there is a day coming when He will reign with justice and mercy, there is a day coming where He will reign over all. A day when every knee will bow and declare Him Lord.

I wish it could be Christmas every day. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ This is not a universal sentiment, there are thousands of people each year, who really struggle, while the world appears to party. Somewhere society has lost its focus, why is it that for a few days we are encouraged to extend goodwill to all men. But behind the glitz, the tinsel, the feasting, there is also an undercurrent of loneliness, abandonment and despair. We do not know the exact day of the year, or even the month of Jesus’ birth, but again if we get hooked up on this detail, we lose sight of this prophecy that was fulfilled just over two thousand years ago, is still being fulfilled and will be brought to completion. Surely each and every day we can marvel in the knowledge that God sent his only begotten Son for each and every one of us. This is a prophecy that has been fulfilled and yet is still being fulfilled and will not be brought to completion until Jesus returns. As followers of Jesus we know that despite what we see around us God is in control, but there is a day coming when He will reign with justice and mercy, there is a day coming where He will reign over all. A day when every knee will bow and declare Him Lord.
