Who do you look up to?

Who do you look up to? Who do you admire? Who are you intimidated by? Whether you go totally overboard about a film star, a celebrity, an author or a sports star, they are people just like us. They are made up of skin, flesh, blood and bone and it is God who created them and gives them the breath in their bodies

‬‬‬‬‬Who do you look up to? “Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭2:22‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬. . . Who do you look up to? Who do you admire? Who are you intimidated by? Whether you go totally overboard about a film star, a celebrity, an author or a sports star, they are people just like us. They are made up of skin, flesh, blood and bone and it is God who created them and gives them the breath in their bodies. . . How many of us get nervous and apprehensive when our boss asks for a chat or invite us into their office? With knees knocking and beads of perspiration clinging to our anxious frame, we knock on their door, while every fibre of our being was to be anywhere else but here. “Come in” and we reluctantly enter the room, scanning our brains for what we might have done wrong. “Thanks for coming I’ve been wanting to talk to you about this for a long time.” As we melt into the offered chair, nausea rising, heart palpitating we almost miss what is being said “thank you, well done, I value your input, I have a special assignment for you”. . . The strange thing is that these feelings arise time and time again, we tend to remember the negative experiences far more sharply than those that were positive. Some of the most lonely people are those with great responsibility, they too need someone to listen to them, to encourage them and it would be good for us to look beyond their job title or social status and recognise that God loves us all the same and with equal measure. It’s time to stop looking to man and put our eyes firmly on Jesus. . . #souvenirs_de_vie #lifemoments #dailydevotions #followingjesus #memories #wisdom #gospel #bible #goodnews #praise #worship #photos #photography
