Mercy said “no”

We marvel when those that have been hurt are able to forgive, this is not a natural phenomenon but one born of the Holy Spirit, with revelation of the mercy that has been extended to us, we in turn are capable of extending mercy

Mercy said "no" "Now the Lord God appointed a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to save him from his discomfort. So Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the plant.” ‭‭Jonah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ What makes you glad? What is it that brings you joy? Jonah was having a strop, a mega sulk, he knew that God would save his enemies , so he sits watching what God would do. God is well aware that the Assyrians had been committing atrocities against the Israelites, but the God of justice is also the God of mercy. Jonah was exceedingly glad, but had lost sight of the bigger picture. His vision had been blurred by years of oppression. He was glad for a plant, he was glad for shade, but would rather die than see God’s hand mercy extended to those that he despised. We marvel when those that have been hurt are able to forgive, this is not a natural phenomenon but one born of the Holy Spirit, with revelation of the mercy that has been extended to us, we in turn are capable of extending mercy “As I've come to see the weaker side of me I realise His grace is what I'll need When sin demanded justice for my soul Mercy said no I'm not going to let you go I'm not going to let you slip away You don't have to be afraid Mercy said no Sin will never take control Life and death stood face to face Darkness tried to steal my heart away Thank You Jesus, Mercy said no” CeCe Winans #souvenirs_de_vie #lifemoments #dailydevotions #followingjesus #memories #wisdom #gospel #bible #goodnews #praise #worship #photos #photography
