Escalating miraculous provision

God’s provision comes in many forms, we need to trust and be willing to play our part, give what we have and give thanks.⠀

Escalating miraculous provision⠀ ⠀ But his servant said, "How can I set this before a hundred men?" So he repeated, "Give them to the men, that they may eat, for thus says the Lord, 'They shall eat and have some left.'" So he set it before them. And they ate and had some left, according to the word of the Lord.”⠀ ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭4:43-44‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬⠀ ⠀ When reading the Bible, I love seeing things for the first time, that I’ve missed when reading before. The Holy Spirit brings revelation and hence we have the Living Word of God. Here we have one hundred men that need to be fed and only 20 loaves of bread, but every one ate was filled and there was an excess. Here I see a glimpse of what is to come.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Hundreds of years later, thousands of people had been listening to Jesus, the day was drawing to a close, the people needed to be fed. The disciples were perplexed, this was going to cost a fortune. Five loaves and a few small fish, was the meagre supply. Presented to Jesus, this meagre meal was lifted up to God and thanks was given, distributed among the crowd everyone was fed, their hunger was satisfied and basket of food was left over.⠀ ⠀ All through the bible we can see examples of God’s miraculous provision, in both Old and New Testaments. This gives us confidence that God continues to multiply our meagre resources.⠀ ⠀ I remember my Grandfather telling me of a time when he and a group of other people were in desperate need of money for their church repairs. As they left the church on the doorstep they found a bag of money the exact amount that was required and the benefactor could not be found. They later found out that a businessman was travelling from America to Liverpool and God spoke to him, telling him of the need, the amount and exactly where it was to be delivered.⠀ ⠀ God’s provision comes in many forms, we need to trust and be willing to play our part, give what we have and give thanks.⠀ ⠀ #souvenirs_de_vie⠀ #lifemoments⠀ #dailydevotions⠀ #followingjesus⠀ #memories⠀ #wisdom⠀ #gospel⠀ #bible⠀ #goodnews⠀ #praise⠀ #worship⠀ ⠀ #photos⠀ #photography
