Saying it With Love

We also forget that a loving rebuke was hard for the person to deliver, but they loved us enough to do it anyway.

Saying it With Love. . . "It is better for a man to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ . . There is an instinctive reaction to pull away from a rebuke. We do not like to be corrected, however it is far easier to receive when we know that the person giving the rebuke only has our best interests at heart. . . There is a sting and it can hit home hard, and sometimes we lash out, saying hurtful things in response, trying to defend ourselves. We also forget that a loving rebuke was hard for the person to deliver, but they loved us enough to do it anyway. . . We also need to be aware of those that just say the things that we want to hear, they may be well meaning, but lack substance and direction. We need to praise and in turn receive praise where it is due and the same is true of correction . . . . . #souvenirs_de_vie #lifemoments #dailydevotions #followingjesus #memories #wisdom #direction #correction
