Healing, Wounds and Scars

We know how to deal with physical wounds so much more than those of the mind or emotions

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭147:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ I’m challenged by this scripture in as much that when something has been healed, why the necessity for the wounds to be bound. Perhaps this is an indication that healing is a process, something that is underway and yet not brought to a conclusion. The covering of our wounds, keeps out dirt and is an aid to preventing infection, but left unattended or not regularly replaced can cause even greater harm. When a wound is bound the two parts of our flesh that has been torn apart, are brought together, while the healing takes place. We know how to deal with physical wounds so much more than those of the mind or emotions. When something is raw, particularly emotionally, having the wound bound can be painful. If we allow God to attend to our wounds eventually that pain will subside and the bandage can be removed. We may bear a scar, but that should serve as a reminder of the healing that has taken place. I desire that healing be instantaneous and complete, but how much more of God’s love and care could we receive, if only we allowed ourselves to submit to a His tender care
